On our recent vacation to St. Lucia, we rented a jeep, and drove ourselves around the island! The views were beautiful and breathtaking. Driving on the left side of the road was easy enough to get used to, but the skinny roads through the villages was a little scary! The roads are very hilly, with lots of tight corners. But I loved the adventure of driving the island.

@everyone - st lucia roads are great!! if u were living their u'd understand wat im sayin , it would hv been piece of cake to drive, like bertram030 said if u have a performance viechle its even more exciting, i live in a flat country right now in the netherlands and straight, flat roads are boring i hate driving their!! and for 7777dmith7777 we've had a hand full of road fatalities, but only ONE!! was a case of driving off the road in the mountians.

If you can drive in St.Lucia you can drive almost anywhere else in the world. There are parts of the island where the roads are so small, yet vehicles go past each other so close and so FAST especially around rush hour. But driving on these roads for us is exciting especially when driving a performance vehicle and having to maneuver all these hills and tight corners!

I just got back. I rented a jeep for two days and drove all over the place. I took some vids of driving and was a little disappointed, it doesn't give the real feeling of it any justice. I would have to say it is the most insane place to drive hands down. If you went off the road anywhere in the mountains it would mean almost certain death !! LOL !!. I got lost in the bowels of Soufrere and thought I would never make it out alive. There was natives circling the jeep yelling HEY WHITE MAN ! LOL !

I'm from Barbados, and i've been visited St. Lucia two years ago, and took a trip from Castries to Soufriere, and trust me, both going and coming, i felt so sick, they are so much tight corners, felt like throwing up. and to top it off, the driver was traveling at high velocity, but i vowed never to go again. What i like is Pigeon Point.
