The blades aren't plastic. They are polyurethane. The blades cannot break. The blades are new technology plus there is no need to shutdown since the blades can handle up to at LEAST eighty mph winds. This could not kill as much birds since the blades do not have as high rpms but there is more torque which equals more energy.
The plastic blades grow brittle with time and sunlight. They would need to be swapped out every year or two.
This setup needs some way to shut it down above 40 MPH so as not to break the blades. Up there by Edwards AFB, the winds on a clear day can go up to 60 MPH.
It is unknown if this would be as much a bird killer as those big units.
The word "transmission" is not spelled "transmition".

If the sound track didn't include all the hokey (what passes for) music, I'd be able to hear the narrator.
