Simple webcam how-to for better picture quality

I have a logitech c910 webcam, and it takes pictures and video up to 1080p, so I figured the picture qualty was going to be very good. Well, apparently just good for a webcam, because compared to a dslr camera, the picure quality SUCKS. The images are very fuzzy, even though I am in perfect lighing conditions and my screen is set to the maximum resolution. Is there any way, such as a photo editing software to make the images more clear and life like, and not so fuzzy?

yep - exactly right - smooth softened light. it took me a while to get there :) wish i've found this video about a year ago :) ... anyway when recording video on youtube or capturing stills with picanom or cameroid your best bet is soft daylight and the second best would be softened artificial light (never directly pointing at you).
i've tested out several light sources and the best results i get from CREE leds, Halogen bulbs and (surprisingly) fluorescent tubes.
