Shelley Lubben addresses a stupefied audience at UCLA School of Law's "Condoms In The Adult Film Industry" panel, November 18, 2010.

Her voice badly slurred, Lubben struggles to find her place in her prepared notes, but manages to get off some astounding lies and distortions. She states that 111 people have died from AIDS in the adult industry; that porn conventions keep inviting her back because they love her (and Pink Cross Foundation) so much; and that anyone who speaks on behalf of the adult film industry is mentally ill.

Someone get this woman some help before she hurts herself. This is truly pitiful.

Lubben admits she has been hearing voices since age 7, when Jesus told her that one day she'd be famous. She also claims that the Lord visited her in person on porn sets: "God hung out with me when I did those movies. He drove me nuts. I was like, 'Leave me alone.'" On the 700 Club TV show she said, of her time on porn sets, "[God] used to come in the room and go, 'Please don't do this.' He really did. He said, 'Shelley please don't do this.'"

Lubben has also admitted, "I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, Impulse Control Disorder, Alcohol Dependence, Depressive Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I was prescribed zoloft, sleeping pills, lithium and counseling" but "He [the Lord] has completely restored me. I am totally free from drugs, alcohol, bad memories, mental illness, sexual trauma, guilt from the past, and everything from the old life."

St. Shelley now claims that all her porn scenes 17 years ago were actually "brutal rape." Naturally, she never filed any police reports, and of course she cashed the checks.

  • @slubben Ahhh, Ministeress?? Last time I checked, none of the starlets you quoted (not even Jenna) claimed to universalize their personal experiences as representative of every single porn starlet. Nor did they refer to all porn performers as "diseased", "drug addled" or mentally ill.

Shelley, if you want to decry hypocrisy, you might want to look in the mirror. It reflects it right back at you..in spades.

  • @AnthonyJKenn Anthony, please remind me -- when was it that the definition of "I" was changed to mean "everybody"?

  • Wow, this was interesting to read.

I have a couple quick comments.

First of all, Jenna Jameson, Tera Patrick, Christy Canyon and a slew of other porn stars write books and they are applauded by the porn industry and even promoted. Interesting enough, they too write about the abuse, drugs and cut-throat biz. But if Shelley Lubben dare writes a book and tries to promote it then she's a liar.

The porn industry never ceases to prove its hypocrisy.

  • None of them claim that all porn performers are mentally ill, diseased, drug addicted trained seals, as you do. They don't claim that 20 year olds are too stupid to understand a simple model release. They don't call porn modern day slavery. They don't fail to account for non-cash contributions on their taxes. And these are not the only reasons you're a liar and a fraud-- we've proven your lies FROM YOUR OWN LIPS in our documentary. Lots more to come. Brace yourself for a whole new round, babe.

  • @BobChaos23 I know. That had me scratching my cranium for a fair while too.

    Farcical.

  • @khbkb where are you finding these statistics? it would be more believable if you posted a credible source.

  • @namasteywhat Sure....and Ted Bundy said that he got his motivation from raping women from porn. Honest and for true...because James Dobson said so.

Of course, the fact that Chrissy Moran and Nadia Styles happen to be ex-performers turned born again Christians supporting Lubben's fundamentalist ministry have nothing to do with their agreement with her core analysis, right??

Don't believe everything you read...or, read from all sides of the story.

    Anthony

  • @slubben To add to Michael's response, they also don't claim to dance in front of an alter and hex people with an eight-foot staff. Why were you such a mess standing at the lectern during the debate? Who really is the hypocrite here? You could be doing the industry some good, but you're too stuck on yourself to care. You'd rather make a rap album with the money people give you. Hand out a few stupid boxes full of dumb girlie things. What the hell is wrong with you?

  • An examination of Pink Cross Foundation's 2009 tax returns reveals that Pink Cross paid approximately 39 percent of its cash donations to Lubben as salary and benefits (not including her travel, meals, hotels and incidentals). In all likelihood, she collected 100%. Her husband purchased $1000 worth of the rap CDs she produced.

But, if you can reach just 1 person.

  • @namasteywhat If I was in charge of selling booth space at porn conventions, I wouldn't give any religious group the time of day. You don't see me standing inside or outside a church waving around a HUSTLER, do you?
