Thanks, awesome video, I had hull # 120, the Flying Cloud for 30 or so years, my father bought her in 1974, incredible vessels :) . Made the 77 and 79 Transpac and countless other races including 4 Congressional Cups, what memories !! I don't recall California Girl, is that the original name ? also your cockpit shot doesn't seem to show the typical Cal40 weather helm, did you do the rudder update ? did ours in 96 and was a different boat after, many years of most special memories, thanks 4 that

Califonia Girl's Original name is Bebeto out of Muskegon Michigan. We brought her from there.. she was named Wind Wraith at the time, we named her Victoria!. Later for racing we renamed her again to CalGal. We had Carl Schumacher redesign the rudder, and had @ 30 of them made, the design has been amalgamated into a "Class Rudder" It performs very well.
