Here is some footage of truck #166, the new JP5 operating in my council, collecting the paper in the Wednesday units just after getting back from the transfer station. This was shot way back on my 2009 July holidays when the truck was still clean and shiny just after the contract had started... a bit of a different story now.

The new truck seems to pack a decent load, is much quieter than other JP5 / Accos and is awesome to work with! The only real let down about this truck is the slow operation speed as you will see with the lifter and packer. Since I shot this footage the truck has become a little faster, but the packer is still quite slow. When the revs aren't on, the lifter seriously looks like it isn't even moving after a certain point on the way down! haha

Hope you enjoy, please rate and comment. Also be sure to take a look at the video of the massive JP5 doing garbage and the old Heil doing the bottles recycling...

Body Make: MacDonald Johnston
Model: 19m JP5
Chassis: Iveco Acco
Council: Warringah Shire
Contractor: United Resource Management (URM)
Collection Type: Paper & Cardboard Recycling

  • Awesome vid! haha driver was impatient @ 1:01 lol!! WTF was that cement truck at 3:07 owned by Hanson??? If so then shit, they're worldwide!! I know they've got a place here in Esco. lol!! That's insane! *****

  • haha Yeh this lifter can give you the shits sometimes, just want to try and push it down faster with your hand! You can betya that was a Hanson, they've only been running cement trucks around here for a few years I think... gotten pretty big in a short period of time too. Which ops do they run up there?

  • Nice one! Clean truck and friendly trash man. But how come this truck's hydraulic operating is slow like packer and lifter.

  • Just how it arrived, but it is a little faster now.

  • Great Work, Looks like a mad team of guy to work with :) I reckon the bin-lift will probably get faster in time, just needs abit of use and it will be alright :) but that seems to be the case with alot of trucks these days, they arrive and there slow as lol :)

  • Wow that sounds like alot of video.I truly look forward to seeing that. You know mitchell if you put together a DVD and had it published i bet it would sale like hot cakes. What little boy would not want to see them and some grown up boys too he he.The teacher once ask me and some other school friends what was so interesting about the garbage truck that was empting the school dumpster. We could not concentrate when it came no joke.I remember the square EZ pack SL coming down our alley in the 1970s

  • I actually have a fair bit of bulk-waste footage to upload, got one coming up for the City of Ryde, another for Randwick, Rockdale, Newcastle and will be getting a bit from a couple of other councils these holidays... I'm hunting a fair bit for that at the moment!

  • Welcome my friend. When do you think you will get any more bulk waste pickups to record??

  • excellent!!!! being outside is the best bit cant beat it even if its been a crummy day with the truck continually playing up!!!
