Really... i dont know what is the name of this hero in english, but i know this character from chinese story.
-So why Goku? o.O
A: Because i think Goku is cheap copy of this monkey king.

None of you watch dragonball because if you did you would know that dragonball was based on the journey to the west story which featured the monkey king who is goku and the monk who is krillen all of you are idiots.

In chinese monkey king´s name is pronounced "shi bu jhon", and goku in chinese is pronounced "shi bu john". Same name in chinese.
Search in wikipedia Monkey king or SunWuKong and Goku. Then look the name in chinese. Is same with the Goku´s name.
Yeah monkey king´s name is SunWuKong in ENGLISH. But...
Monkey king´s name in Chinese is 孙悟空. And Goku´s name(In chinese) is 孙悟空 too.
