@sketchthediamond You basically would want to stay away from things with sugar in them including natural sugars because they will spike your blood pressure. So, no grains (bread/pasta/cookies). Most people try to keep under 20 carb a day, after a couple days of that you'll be in ketosis. Most of the time I only eat dinner all day, I'm just not as hungry anymore. Google lowcarbfriends for a good low carb forum and for recipes google linda sue low carb. hope that helps

@Ahbeeb What can you eat on a low carb diet? Ive been calorie counting and pretty much hungry all the time.

Thank you. I really enjoyed this video. YOu convined me to to do the atkins (which I lost 50 pounds on, kept of for two years, and then broke up with my girlfriend and was like fuck it give me a hamburger!) .. I'm going to try weight watchers

Do what you choose but in my experience what you have choosen is just going to make you fatter....if it does, you know where to reach me to find something that just may work for you like it is doing for me...

LOL....honey if you are going to speak about a particular diet you need to read up on what they actually do FIRST.....Atkins is NOT high protein, it is high fat low carb. Personally I think it goes a bit overboard...
I tried EVERYTHING and just gained and gained and gained...never lost more than a few pounds.
Now I am no starch, low sugar and high fat, and you know what? It is working...I am losing weight and fat FOR THE FIRST TIME...I can see my ribs.
This is America, do what you choose..

@oilkills Also, oilkills, I am not interested in the vegetarian/vegan vs non-vegetarian/non-vegan debate. The newest Atkins book has proof that anyone on a vegan or vegetarian diet can take full advantage of the lifestyle with a few minor tweaks to the percentage of calories coming from fat vs. protein vs. carbohydrate

@oilkills You might want to read Denise Minger's post: "Forks Over Knives": Is the Science Legit? (A Review and Critique). It might give you some things to think about. BTW, I am not saying that CAFO meat is good, but there are very healthy alternatives in grass fed and pastured meats. I wish you well.

@oilkills That's why you buy grass-fed, free-range meats - I do, at least. Forks over knives just promotes a vegan/vegetarian agenda by using some epidemiological studies that have been disproven over and over again. I was vegetarian for 10 years and I can post my cholesterol numbers then vs. now on my paleo diet if you want. Can you guess as to whether they were better or worse?
everything you said about ketosis is incorrect. it is simply a state where your body switches from using glucose as fuel to using ketones. the body/brain actually prefers to run on ketones and will have more readily available energy. i've been in ketosis for 7.5 months and i have tons of energy and i have zero cravings for carbs. i haven't even touched soda in the past 7.5 months. my blood pressure is normal and i have no doubt my cholesterol levels are amazing.

I tried calorie counting and was starving all the time. I'm now doing low carb, it's been 5 months so far and I've lost 25 pounds. I'd like to lose another 25 to get to an all time low. After being on low carb so long I found that I didn't crave carbs at all. It just wasn't worth it, and I was still eatting good food and wasn't starving myself. Whatever works for you though, you'll never know if you don't try. Water is definately key regardless of what diet you are on though.
