With its chorus echoing in some way «Wild horses», by Rolling Stones, «The rip» is a song that slowly builds from a whisper into a compelling melody. Garrett Kamps of The Village Voice calls this song "so good it may have been worth waiting ten years for". «The Rip» appeared on Portisheads third studio album (2008).
