New 50mph limit on that stretch of the A35, - RESULT!
Another one in the groin for the J. Clarkson-like twats out there.
Glad I'm not a florist...

@Paulsb2005 the road is a 70 normally but i guess it went down to 30 and stayed at 30.

i drive that road every time i go to work :D and why are you doing 30 in a 70???? when it goes into double lanes put your fkin foot down!!!! its painful!!!!!!! ahh ok i see the roads work made it a 30 but still after the single lane i dont see why its a 30.

I agree with the video - speeding is not socially unacceptable in many instances simply because the majority perceive the speed limit for that section to be lower than necessary. Whilst we continue to suffer from a "speed causes accidents" mentality and then we will have ever lower limits and ever more ignoring of them.
Whilst I'm at it... there's the A35 thru Slepe/Morden etc. Jeez. What a tragedy THAT is. Body count or what?! Just slow down all you TWATS out there. What's the hurry anyway?! - you'll only get caught in the traffic that's inevitably queued up (probably behind an accident) ahead!

Ok, so you want to drive slowly at all times. At what speed would you like to drive?

Not wot I said. I try to respect speed limits but want the TWATS that don't to slow down. So, the average speed around towns/cities is? 17.8mph! Anything between that and 30 is a bonus. Elsewhere, 50mph should alleviate some of the (almost daily) carnage on the A35 alone. Motorways at 70 are okay but keep twats off until they know how to drive properly. Another bonus of lower speeds; cuts the amount of crap cars chuck into the air.

Ok, agreed, my arguement is against limits which are so low that they are ignored by all drivers, and the deliberate targeting of those limits by the "safety" partnerships, instead of directly targeting dangerous driving (including dangerous speed). The accident rate is unacceptable, and I think this is a direct result of totally misguided road safety policy. Congestion is also unacceptable, and it would be so easy with so little effort, to improve road safety AND reduce journey times.

Not sure what this person is trying to show.
Is he making the point that a 30mph limit is the result of the anal pratt in the council who set the limit, or is he trying to show that most drivers can use their discretion when a speed lmit is artificially low?

Mostly the former, although the latter also is a fair comment in practice, but of course, incredibly dangerous!!
