Luftwaffe is a little European Magpie (pica pica) that we rescued. We are planning to release him into the wild again. We're trying to train him into getting his own food, and we're making progress. He is getting more and more independent for each passing day.

  • I have a magpie too. I found it on the pavement beside a big avenue in Ankara when it was a baby. It had fallen from its nest. Now it is about 7 months old. I would like to free it in a forest. I don't know whether it will be able to survive, but I do not want it to live in captivity. I want to give it a chance to live a free life with a mate.
