Buggin In? Build a Rain Barrel

I will show you how I build a rain barrel. This is a very useful and cost effective way to create a spare water reserve for your home and family. You can use a rain barrel as a back up water supply or for watering your garden plants. This project can be done for around $20.00. this is a great deal as commercial rain barrels tend to run $100.00 and up to around $250.00 for decorative models. This home assembled model will work just as well as the commercial models at a fraction of the price.

For those who don't know,The rain water has dangerouse levels of nuclear fallout from Fufushima Diachi Nuclear melt through.Don't drink the rain water!!!!Great vid other wise.

I would have drilled the catch drain opening on the non bung side of the barrel. That way, the bung caps now on the bottom are threaded for you to add a drain system for cleaning and draining the barrel.

I'd get a rain barrel with a removeable lid for cleaning.

I haven't seen anyone address this issue--you do have to drain and remove them for the winter if you live in an area that freezes, don't you?
