Footage of my day cruise on the USS Lexington in 1991 at its home port of Pensacola. We went 8 miles out from the Port of Pensacola, through the pass and out to the oil rigs, then back to port. A-7's landed and took off from the deck, fired their guns at smoke targets in the water and dropped flash bombs on them as well.
Awesome footage!
Thank you

I served aboard her from 1974-1978. Nothing but wonderful memories. A big part of me is and will always remain aboard The LADY LEX! I think of her almost every day of my life.

OMG!!! Thank you for uploading this!! I was there, I think, if this was the cruise where the Blue Angels also performed for us, then one hit the sound barrier as it zipped by the ship only a couple hundred feet off the water. So cool seeing a lot of familiar faces in this vid. I was on Side-Crew (Deck - 2nd Div.)
