Part 2 chronicles the journey from Lhasa to the Tibet / Nepal border via the undulating Friendship Highway. The primary sites that were visited included Lake Yamdrok, Gyantse (Pelkor Chode Monastery and Kumbum), Shigatse (Tashilunpo Monastery), Sakya (Sakya Monastery), Shegar, Pang La pass (where 4 of the 10 highest mountains in the world can be seen), Chomolungma (Mt Everest) Base Camp, Rongbuk Monastery, Tingri, La Lung pass, and Zhangmu. From Zhangmu, it was necessary to walk to the Nepal border on the road crammed with Chinese and Nepali trucks that were backed up due to a large hole that had cut the road in two.
