Have a Commercial Driver License? Or maybe you're planning on getting one. If so, this video has some very important information that affects you. That's because new federal requirements affecting all CDL holders begin taking effect on January 30, 2012.
This video details the new requirements.
For example, this video:
1) explains which CDL holders will have to have their "Medical Examiner Certificate" scanned and entered intotheir driving record,
2) shows you exactly why will look different on SOME CDLs, and
3) stresses why it's more important than ever to understand the difference between "interstate commerce" and "intrastate commerce."
We hope you find this video to be helpful. If so, we'd appreciate it if you'd share it with others who stand to benefit from this information. Thank you.

  • @PMonroe86 Also if they are doing all of this stuff in the name of safety they need to make it so drivers can get a decent wage so we can make enough money to support our families and there would be no need for a driver to have to push themselves to run more miles to make enough money by hauling cheap. The people trying to make the trucker be safe are the ones making it more unsafe. Thats my opinion.

  • @kljtruck

I agree....more time spent by us maintaining paperwork than out there driving and making a living !!

  • @PMonroe86 Thank you. It seems like they want to make it harder for decent drivers to try to make a living anymore.

  • @kljtruck

Yes you must return every two years and have your medical card updated. I had a lengthy conversation about this with DOT in Illinois. Your CDL will be suspended if your medical card on record expires.

  • So we have to take our new medical card to the dmv every 2 years so it can be scanned into the system??? They didnt make that part very clear.

  • Not necessarily to get drivers off the road. My self it will be one less card(Medical Card) that I will have to carry with me. Question for all of you how many times have you misplaced your Medical Card or you could not read it.

  • So if I drive a bus with people that were born in another conuntry, i can't drive them to there stop?

  • @1953kwbullnose speak*... English*... their*... (I guess misspelling the English language is a-ok.)

  • @104bigTruck Not only make sure the East Indian truckers can read and speek english, make sure they are legal to drive a truck and there truck is legal to drive on the road! those guys are super scary to see driving a 80,000lb+ semi down the road!
