@GutsLCF Actually, the people in this video are sponsored, by Razor, which are the makers of these guy's mouses, keyboards and mouse pads. Plus, in Korea I think there are a lot more competitions for Star Craft than any video game here in America. All I'm saying is most American pros don't actually make a living off of competing, its more of a well paying hobby.

Only in Asia...

@deadblood2 I know but what sparked this conversation was someone making 200k a year without sponsors and tournament winnings. It was his salary for playing games (a Korean). Anyways good luck on your career path.

@GutsLCF Well alrighty then, pretty much my whole family is in the air force. Plus I don't disagree with you completely its just the way you are saying it. Most people don't make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year playing video games, and when they do its from sponsors, companies sponsor people basically using them as advertisement for their games. Most people just go to a competition once and a while and get like 25,000 a competition, they may go to like 3 a year and not winning every one.

@deadblood2 Game design is fine since there's a lot of money to be made in producing and making them. I just don't see the fuss and the point of trying to make video gaming into a livelihood. Right now I'm waiting to get into flight school, if I can. If not then I'll either join up in the army for a while, get a few years of experience there or work into other similar type of jobs. I already have a college diploma in Police Foundations.

@GutsLCF Well actually I'm going to school for video game design not competing, and I'm pretty sure the fastest growing form of entertainment is not going anywhere any time soon, but nice try anyways. What do you do that is sooooo worth while?
