Mayor Gavin Newsom announced that on July 1, 2009, the Healthy San Francisco provider network will expand to include Kaiser Permanente as a provider of care to the uninsured. Healthy San Francisco provides accessible and affordable health care services to uninsured adult residents, regardless of a persons employment status, immigration status or pre-existing medical condition. Over 41,000 uninsured residents are currently enrolled in the program. This is over two-thirds of the estimated 60,000 uninsured adult residents.
