@matthewtyh Would Singapore like to become a part of China too? Come on, you know you do. Aren't you all patriotic Chinese? Certainly a lot more so than us Taiwanese.

I support US forces to garrison Taiwan . Don't let the god-damn Chinese take it away even if we have to pay any to the US government.

Taiwan independence means Taiwan-enslaved-by-U.S.A. Smart Taiwanese do not want to be "sons of the Turtle".

Actually Taiwan is lucky because they are still using the ROC name, and now that the KMT has return to power, the situation should stabilized with China. Independence and the UN entry is not an option for Taiwan. People on the island of the ROC has to remember, if it wasnt for support of the overseas Chinese during the Chiang Kai Shek years they would be where they were prior to what the DPP almost destroy and undo.

Congratulations to KMT's Ma Ying Jeou's landslide election victory. The DPP's Tibet scare tactics did not work and Taiwanese are smart enuff to analyse the situation in Tibet correctly.

Unlike Tibet, Taiwan is fortunated to have a natural barrier: Taiwan Strait. This makes Chinese invasion of Taiwan too risky and costly. It also allows time for U.S. forces in Guam and Japan to intervene if necessary. U.S. intervention will base on the modified U.S.-Japan security treaty in regard to conflict in East Asia. As long as there is democracy in Taiwan, it does not need to be afraid of China. In contrary, this is not the case in Tibet.
