http://www.coloradoyurt.com/ The video shows a few tricks to make a large teepee a little easier to pitch. It focuses on rasing the teepee tripod, keeping the poles stationary at the base when lifting, and hoisting up the last and very heavy teepee pole that has the teepee cover tied to it.

  • With proper anchoring to the ground (staking) this tipi can withstand very high wind speeds. Thanks for watching!

  • Yes, back in the olden days open fires were built in pits at the back center of the tipi. It was used for heating and cooking. Today people still sometimes put open fires in but you can also use wood burning stoves.

  • what's the diameter of this teepee?

  • hello how big are the poles and how big is the tipi ??? thanks

  • @lesaraeschroeder that's exactly what i was thinking!!!!!!!

  • I pitch my 20' tipi alone. I use leverage advantage always. You really do not. E.g. when you lifted the lift pole with the outer skin, the rope should have gone over the top and loose some productivity in friction but gained a huge leverage advantage.
