Vadodara is a Southern city, and it shows in the flat skyline. It feels very different from the palace-cities of Jaipur or Udaipur. Just as I was getting used to driving in India and thinking that the monsoon is nothing but a bit of rain and discomfort, the rains hit hard and the city was flooded. This morning Vadodara was actually in a state of alert. I decided to travel all the same, but this was a tough test for our engine. Luckily, it's been as reliable as ever. Some roads were blocked but I could actually cross them. It helped that wherever I turned, no one seemed to be panicking: if anything, people here are happy with the rains and they end up using the floods as an excuse for a well-humoured break. Today, the journey was a real adventure. And our Civic was a true hero.
is this a honda civic comercial.
