Dorsey's twist on the classic song. It was released in 1960 as the flip side to his #48 pop hit "Hey Little One". Anyone who has any of his country hits, I'd love to hear them.
This is classic uplifting depression era music. "Up on the Big Rock Candy Mountain ...there grows a money tree - but nobody pays any mind to it 'coz everything is free.' The 50's/ 60's rockers preserved early American music to boomers. The Burnette's, Holly, Diddley and the folkies - Seeger - Weavers - Peter, Paul and Mary - Guthrie's - dug into Alan Lomax' s tune gathering anthropology. This song runs deep in American folklorico. So glad you posted it. Thanks.
Great song..I remember hearing this on the radio when I was 10 years old..I loved it then and hey it doesn't sound too bad now either!!Thanks very much for the posting!!

He's the good looking Burnette. Better singer than Johnny, who did several of Dorsey's songs.

Great Song, one of my favourite songs of the 50's and 60's era.
The brother of Johnny Burnette.
Loved the 'Rock and Roll Trio' too.
