This is a NON Tool Assisted run and also Not speed run. It is completed all in 1 sitting when I had time off on a weekend.

This has been long overdue. To my many fans out there it is finally here my first Solo entry of an entire play-through of the Punisher arcade game by Capcom uploaded on YouTube for the very first time.

This is fairly recent and more up to standards for a player that have already been over-familiarized with the game.

Here's the restrictions/standards I made prior to recording this game from scratch:

-The Counter Special Attack (pressing any 2 buttons simultaneously) is never used for this recorded play-through. Reason is because it provides excessive priority and 100% invincibility on the move's start up and recovery. Grapples however are not restricted despite it offers the player invincibility since not all enemies can be grabbed.

-Punisher's life bar never goes Full Gray Status and being still alive just so he'd get a second chance. I simply disqualified my earlier trials when ever my character ended up in that condition. Although this condition actually has a useful purpose compared to Alien vs. Predator.

-Grenades are used but maybe just maybe in a future run video I may fully or patially restrict them to be used on Bosses exclusively or strictly prior to all bosses.

Other misc restrictions/rules applied:

-No emulator cheats,
-No auto-fire or macros,
-No pausing
-No frame manipulation, slowing or speeding the game's normal speed and responses
-No special hardware like a Turbo / auto-fire supported controller
-No types of tool-assisted software

Details of Original File:

Encoded in H.264 MPEG-4/AVC @1536 x 896 Resolution (Quadrupled the original resolution) + AAC Audio @ 160 kbps.

Retains the original aspect ratio of the CPS-1 arcade resolution 384 x 224.

Keep in mind that I only focused on the game play and not the plot details. Plot details such as the cinematic sequences and dialogue are fast forwarded and skipped in real time. When I have time I will create those videos to supplement this playthrough video.

  • Technically, there is no such thing as a speedrun when the lockdown takes place in every area the player comes across, since every particular section must be cleared to move on to the next.

The more I look at the KP battle, the more I hate him for blowing the cigar down Castle's back...

LOL, regarding the last sentence. You just had to mentioned, didn't you? XD

  • Oh, ok. Because I keep seeing the handgun appear out of nowhere and it never runs out. That's kind of an odd feature. Anyways, brilliant run there. Entertaining and not easy to do by any means.

  • @TheSchoolWorld

Thanks, and you are absolutely right.

It wasn't easy to make this playthrough. It took a lot of patience and time as well as reflexes. That and I even had to try and keep my laughter under control since this game is so whacky and ridiculous at times I almost let go of the control and rofl :-P

I also have a playthrough on same difficulty as well as custom restrictions used for the games second player's character, Nick Fury. It's also 5 parts.

  • What's the deal with the gun? Is that unlimited?

  • @TheSchoolWorld

There is no ammo limit however the the player is Only permitted to use the handgun when enemies with guns and those Terminator wanna-be's (yea I said that since they look like Terminators) appear.

Guns that are pick ups like the M16 Rifle and the Uzi are limited to 20 rounds.

Well not all of them. But I suppose some of them he might with the right equipment and since there are like so many made up overpowered super hi tech in Marvel's universe (think S.H.I.E.L.D. had some pretty powerful weaponry that could easily subdue superhumans)

But what eve, if he can get access to them then he might be able to beat them.

And just for consistency he'd only go after and try to kill the bad ones (supervillains), any other case it would be like a mix up.

  • @ShaolinYautja oh i've read those a long time ago and boy were they funny lol, despite the punisher's deadly skills,he can't beat superhumans even if he tried.

  • @THEBURNINGPUNCHX

It's funny how they had a "what if" comic that featured Daredevil killing the Kingpin but not Punisher.

The one that made me laugh most was where "What If" the Punisher killed every single super hero in the Marvel universe. In that comic, the Punisher "did" kill Kingpin.

  • @ShaolinYautja totally lol but i felt that in the comics he should have killed the kingpin a long time ago.
