Prior to the Oct. 22, 2010 screening of a double feature showing of "Gordon's War" (1973, d. Ossie Davis) and "Willie Dynamite (1974, d. Gilbert Moses), I gave a brief talk about the two films and the status of African Americans in Hollywood during the early 1970s. The screenings were part of the UCLA Film and Television Archive's current series at the Billy Wilder Theater in Westwood, CA, "Paint It Black: Revisiting Blaxploitation and African-American Cinema of the 1970s."
