It's actually faster training if you teach them to ring the bell from the get go rather than starting with a ball Ring bell = potty = treat...Use "potty" or whatever your word for it is rather than "target" I really don't know what that was about ...

The machine is called the Manners Minder. Check Amazon, Ebay or just do a Google Search. They are pretty easy to find.
Best of luck!

what is that machine you're using and where can I find one?

@lizzerdskin1313 he reacts to robotic cues and other non human stimuli. he becomes more dependent on his modern surrounding than sending body language to his pack

@TRBNGR666 how exactly is this creating livestock? the more training like this the better it becomes as a family pet, its stimulating the mind and it creates a healthy balanced dog. where do you come from that livestock is treated this well?

i do that!

this is bizarre lol, creating livestock instead of a family pet
Rewards really ought to come from the trainer, that way his attention is all on you, rather than mainly on that little box that hands out food. What I did was I left the bell by the door and had my dog touch it, as soon as it made a noise I opened the door. I kept doing this until he realised that ringing the bell made the door open. Took about half an hour.

@0XxSasukexX0 Actually rewards do not have to come from the trainer. Does Pavlov ring any bells for you?
The Manners Minder (little box) was invented by Dr. Sophia Yin, a Veterinarian Behaviorists from UC Davis.
The Manners Minder uses classical conditioning and is a scientifically tested program.
I "realise" your point, however, your dog is smart and is working under operant conditioning.
