LGRA/NOTRA Nationals 2006 - Shot on Site Photography

Most weekends, somewhere around the world, sighthounds of all types are competing in one of the most popular of canine sports, racing. It is unfortunate that most people are only familiar with Greyhound tracks because if they could see the other end of the spectrum, the amateurs meeting in fields participating in one of the oldest rituals of human culture... "my dog's faster than yours", they would start to understand the great joy these hounds experience by chasing after prey. You will find many different breeds and sizes from Italian Greyhounds to Irish Wolfhounds running in these competitions. LGRA or the Large Gazehound Racing Association and NOTRA the National Oval Track Racing Association offers the owners of these unique sighthounds the opportunity to allow their hounds to do just exactly what they were bred to do... chase game... though our current competitions use a lure on a mechanical pulley to entice the hounds to run rather than the live game of yesteryear. These photos feature my Scottish Deerhound FernHill's Javelin, CGC, JC running in the Nationals which took place at Marlton, NJ in October, 2006. they need to have moto-X style dog tracks, my English Bulldog loves running, for a few moments, on R/C and BMX tracks he handles the doubles just like a motorcycle and stays low flying over the table tops however, he doesn't do too well on the whoop section

think about it dogs jumping, hitting a berm drifting though corners it would be awesome
