@moucon The epiphone's one are solid mohogany as well. It is the pick ups that are different and the quality control for these guitars are worse. Otherwise, they are pretty close.

epi's are made in jap or korea

@usefulcoin I'm looking for an upgrade from my squire but will definitely not enough money to get fender or gibson. Is this good quality? And will it last?

hey i'm looking to upgrade from a pevey raptor and i was wondering how good this guitar wood be i play through a fender frontman 212 i play rock ac/dc guns and roses Metallica stuff like that would this be a good beginner to mid leave guitar

It's very odd how guitars stay in tune. I've borrowed a very very cheap school guitar, it's probably over 7 years old, its bashed and has a kind of "vintage" look to it because people treat it so rough, however it stays in tune much much longer than my other guitars, around £200 =/

lmao i have this exact guitar silverburst too...biggest waste of 400 dollars i ever made...neck heavy, muddy tone i had to set it to treble and bring up the tone to the max and it was still muddy ass hell...wood is of semi-decent quality nothing special...all in all a waste..but now i got a fender so i'm good
For the money they're perfect for a spare. They're NOTHING like a Gibson however. The wood is not the same - My SGs are solid mahogany. These are what? Fast-growing Chinese WhateverWood. The hardware is a much lower grade and so are electronics. It ain't a Gibson - simple as that. Of course, a Real SG is a challenge to keep in tune - rubber neck, you don't need a whammy- just bend the whole guitar.

@moucon No indeed there isn't. Although I'm a die-hard Fender kinda guy, anything that has a Gibson Standard or Custom in the title is a really high quality instrument. The nitrocellulose finish and the wood quality and weight really makes it feel expensive. The Epiphone is a really nice starter guitar but nothing more.
