Anne and Alix from: Anne Trister (1986)

About the movie: Anne Trister is a brilliant but emotionally unstable painter/ sculptor. After the death of her father, Anne returns from Switzerland to her home town in Quebec. Setting up a studio, she becomes obsessed with her work, to the extent that she grows farther and farther from her Swiss lover. Anne enters into an affair with her childhood friend Alix, which also takes second place to her art. While hospitalized due to a fall from her scaffold, Anna discovers that her studio has been condemned and demolished and with it, her life's work. Somehow this disaster, coupled with her ongoing relationship with Alix, enables Anne to find inner peace at last.

@turlutte29 Oui c'était à la fois beau et triste. J'aime beaucoup le cinéma quebecois. Au sujet de la musique, Danielle Messia la chanteuse qui interprétait la chanson de ce film "Je t'écris de la main gauche", est malheureusement décédée depuis. Merci d'avoir commenté cette vidéo =)

@mcprevec Well if u mean gay themed movie I saw : C.R.A.Z.Y (2005) it's excellent. About lesbian french canadian movies I didn't see others yet, but u should try to watch the other movies of Lea Pool the director of Anne Trister, I think it's also lesbian themed most of the time =) Search on the net there are many forums about québec movies.

Switzerland, or Israel?

Loved the movie, very French - psychoanalysis, love, women, it was wonderful, and it introduced me to the extaordinary catalogue of music of the late, great Danielle Messia (Mashiah). If you can get a recording of hers, treasure it and share it, we are blessed to have her repertoire.
