Dr.Wong Chin Huat is a political scientist who did his doctorate in comparative democratization at University of Essex, UK. He now teaches journalism at Monash University, Sunway Campus in Malaysia. He writes political commentaries in English, Chinese and Malay for alternative media including www.thenutgraph.com and www.freemalaysiatoday.com. Besides electoral reform, he is also an advocate of freedom of expression and a pioneer in non-violent creative protests.

Key issues Dr.Wong touched on during the lecture:
**The past records of dirty elections in Malaysia.
**The pressing need for electoral reforms before elections.
**The importance of political stability in Malaysia to Commonwealth.
**The need for the Commonwealth to send an election observation mission.
