  • You had confused Seely with Zealandia. The bridge you drove under is part of the old Zealandia estate.

  • @uspscsx thanks for the info, at the end that's the castle right?

  • @TheKennyKennyKenny Yes I believe so. Wonder why pomatoegirl's comments were flagged as spam? They all seemed accurate and informative. I also wonder about all the comments that were removed.

  • @uspscsx yea u have to wonder about youtube and what they think is spam??? her comments were great and lots of great info, I think youtube removed the comments because they thought they were spam? Thanks for the great info!!!!!

  • Seely's Castle is on Town Mountain. Beaucatcher is the other side (or other half) of the mountain. The castle was built by Fred Seely, son in law of Edwin Wiley Grove (Grove Park Inn). He built it, in 1912, as the house for his wife (daughter of E.W. Grove) and child to live in during the period of time that Seely managed the GPI. He ended up selling the castle (I believe, but am not positive) to UNC Asheville to be used as the location of the college in 1949.
