This beautiful piece of music was the last to be chosen out of thousands of potential songs, to go on the Voyager golden record, sent out into space to be found by aliens. Let's hope the extra terrestrial find this some day and hear it...

I find this even more deeply expressive than the slow movement from his 9th symphony. Anyone coming to this music for the first time take a listen to the "lento assai" from op.135 and also the beautiful "Heiliger Dankgesang" movement from op.132.
