Video taken from my (very dirty) office window, July 10, 2008. 1st segment - southbound at Roosevelt Street at the transition from Central Ave. to 1st Ave., on the 1st run under live wire - walking speed. This is after having gone west and north on Central to McDowell Rd. 2nd and 3rd segments - second run in the afternoon at about 20 MPH.

  • @Benjua13 It can go faster. *smh.

  • People walking in front to make sure it doesn't hit anything? Two guys at the rear to pickup anything that falls off? Nothing like being overly cautious...

  • That's going to be a VERY long commute time.....

  • dang it seems as if the light rail just stared running!! lol gotta love AZ

  • I´m glad that some US cities are clever and they build new public transport systems! I think deleting tram systems in 50s was very stupid decision!

  • phoenix took this long to have a lrt system put in?

  • i live in that building right there and ive seen the light rail move up and down almost everyday now.

  • The Lightrail was underconstruction 2 years ago when I moved away from my hometown! I miss home! It's so weird to see this in downtown! Is that not really Chicago or something? lol

  • Lol, love the electronic horn.
