Performed at the Gran Teatro de La Habana on July 15, 2009. Part of the Tribute to Alonso by The Royal Ballet. This is a video I would have not posted but upon request from a very dear friend. Amazing performance, the best I have seen from either of them. Bravura with Style. Enjoy!

  • Awesome! I'm only halfway through and it's fantastic! Thank you for filming this, they dance beautifully together. I only hope Cuba's ballet make it over to England next year and we can see what they have in store for us!

  • They will in perform at the London Coliseum April/May 2010 with Swan Lake and a mixed program. Tickets may be already available, visit the ENO website.

  • Can watch her just do balances and fouettés all day long! But is nice that in reviews, the mention her acting and artistry as her most impressive quality--she isn't just tricks.

  • wow! those balances and fouettes were amazing!! am in shock!!

  • Tamara Rojo literally killed me with that performance. I've never really been impressed with her dancing, but this pdd proved me wrong. That balance starting around 3:40 was phenomenal. GAAAH, how I wish one day I'll be like her too!

  • are u serious! wow

  • WOW again. She has a beautiful figure, gorgeous feet, crazy balance, and incredible fouettes. The more I watch this, the more I fall in love with her.

  • WHOA, those balances...ridiculous!!!

  • I have seen her do fouettés plenty of times but i have never seen this version when she changes her spot AND does doubles as well. Love Tamara, she is such a beautiful dancer. Great technician BUT she also has an amazing acting ability!

    Thanks for posting :)

  • so dark...

  • Yes, what's so nice about Tamara's dancing is that although she can do tricks better than anyone, that's not the sum total of her artistry. Unfortunately lots of the Cuban women (especially Viengsay Valdes) seem to be stuck in the mugging-to-the-audience while performing some trick (at the expense of line) mode. The incredible Cuban men, including Carreno, seem to possess more refined technique than the women -- not sure why.

  • Tamara Rojo is one of, if not the best dancer in the entire world.

In my opinion she's better than Alessandra Ferri by alot as far as the technique goes.

Great balances, turns, and gorgeous arms.

  • I saw a documentary about the trip to Cuba and Rojo's partner didn't turn up till the day of the performance, so they only had an hour's rehearsal together, and she was uncertain about doing it at all, so that would be why she's a bit hesitant in places. Still gorgeous though - her line is beautiful

  • tamara is a gorgeous dancer. Those balances were really impressive and the fouettes really controlled besides her beautiful artistry.

Carreño, I love him <3 as a man and as a dancer. He's is THE dancer. He's totally amazing.
