@AgilityPixie our Kuvasz does not bark at all too, unless he wants to come in the house. for going out, he hold the door knob.

@fatdaddyherb Would you keep 6 maremmas on 6 acres for breeding purposes as the breeder at Peavine Hollow in VA does? There are more responsable breeders than this from what I have researched who are LESS concerned about money and more with dog training/care.

I have a maremma and pyrenesse, plus a street dog from Aruba, they all barked hearing this. Funny.

ALL LGD breeds bark incessantly, not just the Maremma. Your argument is invalid. You act as if I denied that the Maremma's barks at nothing when i actually agreed with that. What I'm saying is ALL LGD breeds bark incessantly, its their nature.
A good LGD is one that keeps vigilant and deters/fights predators.

Any dog will bark non stop if you don't take the time to train them. Unlike many breeds I find that my maremma barks only when there is actually something to worry about (snakes, strangers, stray dogs etc). My aunty had one in town and she didn't bark at all. Not sure what you do to them to make them bark, but none of the ones I have ever met are like that.
