Somethings it can be hard to climb out from a small hill. On this day it was very difficult, but the pilot seen here made it to cloudbase, eventually!

Yes but it is the only way to rise when there is no thermal. You fly some "8" using the slope wind.

Scratching and staying up when all around you are on the ground or heading down gives a great feeling.
Its more of a challenge than staying up on a good / easy day.
You really have to fly and look for the lift. Read the hill, and "see" the wind, just like water in a small stream.
