Good work. But next time you should let the kid do his own project. Clearly someone is holding the camera, buying things over the internet, soldering, writing basic code, and composing a perfect presentation. I have the same items and basic skills now after a few years of learning and spending lots of money. or I'm wrong and some parents just let their 198IQ genius 10yo spend hundreds off their credit card and let him play with exposed wires for "love". But still, good work to someone.

FYI, I am a Sr. Systems Engineer, and I make more $ Than I ever thought possible, and I started learning myself with little projects like yours.
I now work interfacing to devices like cash acceptors, money order machines.
It amazes me how many software engineers do not know how microcontrollers work, or how to convert to hex /ascii /decimal or write code that is effecient.
The Parallax micros are a great place to start learning how to interface.
