  • @mindstormsabrewin It's not vulgar, it's beautiful. You don't know what you're talking about, Lynch, Tarantino, and especially Scorcese are masters at using popular music in their work. The soundtrack to Goodfellas is stunning. By juxtaposing the songs over the images in Blue Velvet, Lynch is showing us that the world it appears as (Music) is not how it seems (Images). It's a stroke of genius. It's vulgar for you to say it's vulgar

  • “Blue Velvet” is completely brilliant! One of my all-time favorite films!

  • I saw this film recently and, naturally, thought that it was a fascinating piece of filmmaking and was transfixed on the perfromances of Rossellini and Hopper.

However I couldn't help but be slightly disturbed and confused by certain occurneces that happned. Like what has Frank Booth inhailing through the oxygen mask and why, what was the point of Ben singing 'In Dreams' and does what sybolism does the song 'Blue Velvet' represent?

  • I had to smoke two joints and a bottle of scotch to try to sober up after watching Blue Velvet for the first time.

  • In dreams...you're mine...all....forever in dreams...

sends chills down my spine every time

  • @tamerswan Haha yeah I get what you're saying.

  • @tamerswan Why would you hate to admit it? It's a classic!

  • Notice at 1:46, where the mic shadow is cast on her back, it almost looks like an upside down pentagram. Maybe it was Intentional?

  • critics are full of shit. this guy is an idiot.

  • "My childhood was elegant homes, tree-lined streets, the milkman, building backyard forts, droning airplanes, blue skies, picket fences, green grass, cherry trees. Middle America as it’s supposed to be. But on the cherry tree there's this pitch oozing out – some black, some yellow, and millions of red ants crawling all over it. I discovered that if one looks a little closer at this beautiful world, there are always red ants underneath. "

    -David Lynch

  • @Johnlindsey289 I like Dune for the visuals really, like I said he creates new worlds. I really really really really like Elephant Man, but it isn't my kind of Lynch. I like that all of his surreal movies are really left up to interpertation, which make them more memorable and fun to talk about. Make 4 people watch Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, Inland Empire, and Eraserhead and you'll get 4 diffrent perspectives. But, I would say Blue Velvet is my faveroite.

  • @underbightdog23

I like all of Lynch's movies except for Dune which is his black sheep, i'm sorry but him and exspensive hollywood Sci-fi blockbusters don't mix at all and he knew that. But what did you think of Elephant Man?
