Grace is maybe trying to ease her tiny conscience because she saw what happened to Sam. Or maybe she just wants Sam as one of her flock. She is a nasty two-faced cow and the reason why Sam is upset is because of her! She deserved every single one of those boos - especially those on her birthday!
