Wrong,this exact line is the same in both versions,the difference is in "outside in the distance/a wild cat did growl"(dylan) and "outside in the cold distance"(jimi).

i agree, but there's also a subtle, distinct difference in the lyrics between the two to take note of:

hendrix: "None will level on the line, nobody offered his word"

Why are we arguing over Dylan or Hendrix's version? They're different genres, you can't really compare them. Let's all just sit back and enjoy them both.
