dude, awesome job. that bit of aluminum on the RH side of the bike is gleaming. I have an old yamaha with an aluminum engine and case, so I've been looking around for how to deal with that. but I gotta say, you have a pretty pink camera.

you should of used bombs away from captain richards. you wouldn't need to sand it and been scratch free with a much better shine.

wear did u get the polish from!

Hey there, that's awesome, thanks. Trying to polish a 671 blower. Casting is a bit rough but have sand harder. Cheers, Jeff.

I hope you didn't try to polish your frame as it is only painted steel not alloy! :0(

@sweeney1959 I wanted to do it, but I found out shortly after that it was steel. I put a magnet to it just to be sure and it stuck......I was going to still do the rims, but I ended up selling the bike and getting a new one at the begening of this season. Its an 07 r6 it is pretty nice I may or may not polish this one but if I do ill post a vid

@xXsuperfly541Xx Good luck with the polishing, gald I could help....definetly post some pics or even a vid....Just be patient on the sanding especially on a large part like a frame, take your time and if possible give a couple of days to do it so your arm doesnt get too tired. Just be sure you sand it good with one grade before moving to the next, I know you are gonna wanna get it done, but really sand good through out each grade and you should be very happy with the end result....

one more thing....... after its all done it will fade pretty quickly if not kept up on so just be sure to buff it out with the mothers or any other aluminum polish regularly especially after it rains, or after you wahs the bike or ride in dusty areas....the road grime will get on it but if you keep up on it then it will be fine if not you will have to sand it over again and re polish it

thanks for your video! I want to do the same kind of job on a few aluminum parts on my harley but got a bit scared when reading I had to use wet sand paper :)
I was also wodnering if some kind of tool should be used to get a real nice finish.
I'l give it a shot now, you convinced me it is feasible even by hand and that it doesn't trash the look of the bike!

@mimizone I felt the same way but because the bike was a little older and wasnt in the best shape anyway I figured it would be the perfect practice bike. Wet sanding isnt so bad and it actually makes the job easier so I wouldnt worry about that...The more work you put into the sanding the better your finish will be.. you have to be very patient and dont rush and it will come out nice. I am going to use an automotive hand polisher next time because I think it will be a better finish Good luck....
