  • @GL3NE I agree with you about the performance dynamics but the audio to this clip is compressed to hell. If you listen, the quiet sections are the same level as the loud. This is a trick used by audio engineers so people don't keep having to turn their tv's up and down. e.g. 5:30-6:00 crescendo: the level barely changes, you just get the impression that it does from the change in timbre. You can bet your ass that live, the crescendo was blistering.

  • I love this piece, but I believe that it requires considerable attention to the dynamics, which Berezovsky lacks in this particular performance...

Either way, his technique is phenomenal. I have never seen a more focused and precise individual at the piano.

  • Really love this song...

but i think for this version it was to rush and the crescendo is the fist lack of this version (maybe the setting or something like that)

    but still a good playing...

  • @sfd1984 Ok why do people say you cant hear the crescendo, when you can perfectly hear it? :|

  • well i loved it

  • the first part is played as if it would be a competition of "how fast" and no intention of going into the deep. I really am not interested in technique-circus at the piano. Also in the rest of the piece, the fast parts are often played in a manner that sounds like "playing it away" and rushing to the finish line.

  • @sfd1984 Audio engineers shouldn't mess with that!

  • Fenesta Vascia! *_*

  • Berezovsky is a really great performer... but i don't like this performance... i don't know why... his interpretations of the liszt etude are just great...

  • Uhmazing.

  • @sfd1984 As much as I love natural dynamics, I compress all my classical music for listening in the car.
