(December 4, 2008) Can Detroit learn the lessons of its global competitors in time to survive? America's "Big Three" automakers put it this way: either Congress comes through with a multi-billion dollar bailout, or at least one of them will fail. GM, Ford and Chrysler say "small and fuel-efficient" is now their new mantra.

  • why cant i see the video

    wanting new friends tL

  • I heard news about GM that they are in danger of filing bankruptcy but they opens new assembly in Russia accordting to this.

It is very interesting to see that small car busines and alternative car business (electrinic car, economical and clean car) start to emerge as next car business game while big 3 are crying to Capitolhill to get money instead of find the way to keep employer.

hope this bad economical period ended soon and something positive come out. it was very informative episode.

  • I just picture a fat person trying to get in the driver's seat and feeling comfy.

  • Those mini cars look like kiddy cars. I guess if you get in an auto accident its quick way to die.

  • Back in '98 when Lynx & Mtech5 showed their mag-hub motors to Detroit - to be REVILED, MOCKED, and even THREATENED! They must have known in their hearts that this day would come! Agast, staring into each others mad, vacant eyes, they must have said "this means BANKRUPTCY"! Yes, but notice that Congress really LISTENED when Chrysler revealed they had a tech-sharing agreement with NISSON! Yeah, Nisson is one of the Fuel-Less Transport inventors and soon producers: a real "plan B"!

  • Thanks for that video. It was very informative.

  • This makes me think, let those dinosaurs fall, mammals are on the rise!
