Diddy Kong Racing Walkthrough Pt 24: Vs. Bluey the Walrus (2nd time)

Ohhh you'll like this one. Bluey is much more difficult the second time than the first. He is indeed faster than you (although not by much), so you'll need to rely on very careful driving (hitting walls is a no-no), a blue balloon, and, possibly, a red.

Firstly, you can't really get ahead of him at the start, even if you get a super turbo start. He'll lead you right through until the snowball area. Stay close and your chance to pass will be here. The blue balloon at the beginning of the snowball area is necessary to overtake him. As you can see in the video, Bluey always slows down right at the end of the snowball path when a snowball runs over him. If you are not ahead of him at this point, restart. Otherwise, carefully go through the final tunnel. Bluey may overtake you here (like he did me). If he doesn't, simply avoid the trees in the final area and hit the finish.

If he does, you'll need to grab a red balloon after coming out of the tunnel and fire it at him. This is NOT easy, but it's the only way you'll pass him. I showed you the perfect time to hit him in the video since he'll usually overtake you in that tunnel.

Winning will give you the second piece of the Wizpig Amulet and will open up the Trophy Race for Snowflake Mountain. First we'll take on the battle game for this world.

these videos are great, and you must be really good considering that you beat all the bosses in one try. i'm 14 and my brother used to play this 4yrs ago, but i was too little to even beat most of the regular races. now i've decided to take on every challenge and see if i'm good enough now. now i'm at his age when he played the N64 the most, yet i still can't beat everything he did.

Bluey sounds like the paintpot from "Conker's Bad Fur Day." which isn't surprising since both games were made by Rareware.

TIP: Get the first and second blue balloons. Save them until you're out of the second tunnel. Then use the boosts.

In my opinion, the tip that I used to beat Bluey is much better than using red and blue balloons.
