Learn about the about the history of the Leaburg, Ore. area, recreation opportunities and environmental enhancements at the Eugene Water & Electric Board's Leaburg-Walterville Hydroelectric Project, parts of which started producing electricity in 1911. This video was created for the video kiosk at EWEB's new Leaburg Lake Visitor Shelter on the McKenzie River. The shelter is one of many recreational improvements that EWEB made to the lower McKenzie River Valley as a major component of a new 40-year operating license issued by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for the hydroelectric project, which supplies energy to about 10,000 homes.
