  • very nice video! i have a question though.. im very into dslr digital but want to play around w/ film... if i were to do this. do i have to do any development the film before hand? (sorry im a noob when it comes to this).. or can you just take the film right out of the camera and start to take pictures of it w/ your dslr? I was wondering this b/c i always hear stories of ppl saying you're not allowed to let light touch the negatives b/c it would ruin it.. or is that only while using the film?

  • @WylunCustoms you have to take the film to develop before if you take out the film right before the exposeres you will destroy the negative

  • this is like scuba diving in designer clothes... using otherwise powerful tools for a task they're just not suitable for.

with your work method you lose vast amounts of resolution, granularity, texture, basically all the cool things you gain with analogue film and process.

please read!!! about colour negative vs ccd vs cmos gamma curves and their compatibility. it's not just about the amount of light and framing.

  • @lokalhero i know very well about what you are talking about. digital vs analogue analogue K.O. digital all about dinamic range high scale prints and all of that. But letºs say you use this method for web sharing or presentacion... by the way thanks for your opinon

  • @gigiboxa no offense really!! sorry if i put it the wrong way. english is my second language...

by the way i like the idea of using lcd backlight, maybe combining it with a cheap flatbed scanner and making scans in two light would yield excellent results.

(we used a hd camera for digitizing super8 footage projected onto a white wall... this is another cheap workaround. the only problem is syncing the crappy projector with the camera.)

  • @lokalhero it.s ok man and for me to english itºs the second language hehehehe

  • Wow sorry I hurt your feelings. Any music would have been better than this 80's elevator music. I just thought you'd be more creative.

  • it's a nice idea... i'll try it... thanks... :D

  • this is a bit too bright i suggest taking the picture with 2 stops higher of exposure to the point where the film is lighter and more blended with white. Also shooting at a neutral or flat color and RAW setting will allow a higher dynamic range so you can color correct easily.

  • Good idea, with old monitor.

    Thanks!

  • wow talk about misuse of the clarity control!

  • Do you have to develop the film first before taking pictures of them?? thanks

  • Hello! I would like to know what is the name of the song in the background! :)

  • @gigiboxa thanks!

  • @canadaisthenorth lol hard to believe? im 25... i got into photography using a digital rangefinder... then moved straight to dslrs 2 years ago.. i had never had a reason to ever use film!

  • @WylunCustoms The fuck? You have a DSLR, yet have no idea how a film camera works?
