Dream Theater - Pull Me Under guitar solo - Korg Oasys

Another Petrucci solo, this one is a true classic! I remember well, the year was 1993, my cousin gave me a cassette tape with some heavy metal songs, including the "8 minute epic from this unknown band called Dream Theater", I was blown away! To be honest, it took me quite some time to understand what was happening with all those weird tempos, sounds and insane amount of notes lol.

Pull Me Under made me wanna be a guitarist, I started to take lessons but never took it seriously. 16 years later and now I´m playing it on a keyboard, who would imagine? :)

I used the same guitar setup of my last video plus an improvised backing track to spice things up a little.

Up until I saw this I've never heard of Prominy LPC...I've been using realstrat for the longest time now, thinking there was nothing better in the VST guitar modeling department. Do you have any experience with realstrat, how does it compare. great performances btw

Hello my friend! Yes I´ve used realstrat and it sounds great for its size! But you can´t really compare a 1gb guitar (realstrat) with Prominy (28gb). You have all kind of articulations and huge level of detail in Prominy. And still doesn´t sound perfect! That´s how tricky emulating a guitar can be.

A good alternative is Bela D Lyrical Distortion, it has less than 4gb and sounds AWESOME.
