  • Hello Travis,

Thank you mate. The pipe is my pride and joy. I'm glad you like it. When a first had Nico he run into the corner of my fish tank. He just shook his head and off he went again. Later he ate two of the fish when i was cleaning tank!!! Take care of yourself.

    Cheers, Tim

  • Lovely pipe, Tim!

  • Hey maybe I could throw a little coffee in my pipe with my tobacco. That should get me going!! I am very interested in trying this flake. It sounds about my style. I have been looking for an aromatic that still tastes like tobacco. Will look it up. Thanks for the video.

    Best Wishes,

    Shaggy

  • Tim, love that pipe! Also, like the way you found a good jar for the tobacco. I do the same thing when I can. Why spend when you don't have to...... I live in the Chicago, Illinois area of the USA. We get PLENTY of snow here every year. Sometimes, we get so much that it becomes a bore and a chore!

    Best Wishes,

    Guillermo

  • 1. I love than long, slim stem. Very elegant pipe you're smoking.

    2. I take it that you are referring to those long German regimental pipes with cherrywood stems and porcelain bowls. I have one (it was a gift) and the bowl can get AWFULLY HOT—like a teapot! I assume the long stem is meant to cool the smoke down.

Liebaert & Maya have some marvelous illustrations of such pipes in their book, The Illustrated History of the Pipe.

  • McChrystals is excellently bracing IF you care for highly mentholated snuff.

  • Hello Tim, another smashing video. Tomato juice, ketchup has the ability to adsorb any strong smelling compound. I have been told that when a dog has been sprayed by a skunk (sulphur mercaptans) that the odor can be removed with a tomato bath. all the best, chris

  • Not as yet mate. I'll see if i can get some.

  • Talking of things Highland, have you tried McChrystals Highland Ice snuff? I've wondered what that was like for some time now.

  • Hi Tim,

I thinnk that it will take a while until I get my first "Highland Sliced". Yesterday I talked to my uncle (he lives in Canton/Georgia) who is going to come and see me on thursday (02/12/2009). He told me that he got a can of "Captain Black" tobacco (US-Mixture) for me. I just had a look for this can and found out that it is a 12 oz can! That's a lot of pretty good tobacco...! :-))

But I will put your video to my favorites. So, I won't forget your recommendation.

    Cheers mate,

    Lars
