I worked with some of the chord changes from Art Tatum's performance of this beautiful song on the Norman Granz Sessions and made up my own Tatum-esque improv on it. A sort of tribute to the greatest jazz pianist that ever lived. I want to add some more non-Classical performances to my channel because I love jazz and i worship Tatum. ENJOY!

  • This is amazing!

  • @KeithWhalen11 thanks Keith! Just testing the waters because as you know i worship Art Tatum and would like my channel to incorporate more jazz and rock. I have a TON of rock transcriptions, Pink Floyd, The Who, Yes, etc. I just recorded a stride version of "Why Was I Born". just about my favorite old standard ever. thanks for listening. I am hoping to improve as an improviser.

  • Nice technique on runs, arpeggios and Tatum-esque flourishes. The arrangement calls to mind a big ornate piece of Victorian furniture!
