My baby was having infantile spasms and they were clustered like his. There is nothing wrong about speaking to him like that. I do the same thing because I am scared to death myself and you feel so bad that they are going through this. My baby would cry and rest after...very hard to deal with. There is nothing wrong with a binky either. My daughter has tuberous sclerosis...I know how it is.

the crib is a safety measure because of his seizures im sure, binky is to calm a child, seizures can be traumatic for children so if a binky calms them and talking calms the parent and child then thats what you do. speaking im sure is clearly related to the neurological aspects of the seizures. if you dont understand what is happening then dont speak.

it's pretty clear you have never been around or have had a child with Seizures. Or an adult for that matter. You talk to them to keep them calm and also as a parent to keep yourself calm. The crib i would think would be safety reason, the speak could be due to the seizures themself and the binky sometimes calms childern down during Seizures. Think before you speak.
Gavin is no longer in a crib he now has a hospital bed with padded rails. He still does however take the binky just to calm him down. He is now 5 years old and we have the seizures under control for the most part by putting him on the Ketogenic diet. He has had seiuzres since he was 3 months old and it doesn't get any easier the older he gets. He has now been diagnosed with Autism and will fight this battle for the rest of his life. Thank you all for the sweet and inspirational comments.
