Hey I'm deciding between a Mark V and a triple Rectifier, which one do you think is best for playing Tool and harder stuff?

I love both amps, i would usually say the mark V is tighter sounding but in this video i like the dual rect. Could be the cab though considering its a mesa and the mark v is plugged into a different cab. That also looks like an older 2 channel recto wich i think are significantly better sounding than the new ones. i own an old 2 channel and its one of my favorite amps ive ever owned

I wish I could afford a Mark V but I only could get the Dual Rect. Maybe someday

@morphius747 well both guitarist's of lam of god actually use the mark v so i'd go with that, but both are totally killer amps. :)

@morphius747 dual
I'm deciding between a mark v and a dual rectifier and I play more of metallica, lamb of god and amon amarth stuff. Which amp would be better for that?

@morphius747 Mark V mate. The versatility of the Mark V is untouchable by the dual recto. If you love old Metalllica tones and Lamb of God then the Mark V is for you. Brilliant amp.

I'm currently deciding between these two amps. As you have experience with both I'd love your opinion on which a guy who plays '80s to modern rock should look into. Nice video, your sounds are killer.

@Horhayj Thanks mate. I'd probably recommend the Mark V. Whilst both amps cover most genres of music very well, the mark V has a several things which make it a more versatile machine. Since you're not a 'modern' heavy metal player you won't need that deep low and sizzly high gain of the dual recto. The mark V does all things from clean, crunch and high gain extremely well and the lead tones are just outstanding. LIQUID! is how I would describe them. If you've got the dough, get the mark V!
