MSF Press Conference on Haiti Earthquake

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) teams already working on medical projects Haiti have treated hundreds of people injured in the quake and have been setting up clinics in tents to replace their own damaged medical facilities. Paul McPhun, MSFs operations manager for Haiti, described the current situation for MSF teams on the ground during a press conference on January 13.

I'm glad to be able to support MSF's work for ongoing projects and emergency response to disasters. Haiti needs both. I contributed to several charities after the tsunami, and MSF was the *only* one that kept me informed about the situation -- and offered to return my contribution if I wished, since they didn't need any more money for their response. (I opted to re-allocate it to a different project.) They have my confidence. Hope the missing staff/volunteers will soon be accounted for.
